Shiatsu is a method of energetic body work that supports the free flow of vital energy in the body’s energy pathways (meridians) and promotes the body’s mobility. This is done primarily with careful, gentle, sometimes deep pressure with the thumb and palm on acupressure points. The nervous system relaxes, the metabolism is stimulated and the mind comes to rest, regenerating body and soul.
The effect of Shiatsu is like cherry blossoms in springtime. Physical, emotional and mental tension is reduced and the flow of energy to the body’s systems is simultaneously stimulated and supported. The effect is greater wellbeing, balance and vitality. By stimulating and harmonising the body’s energy flow, Shiatsu can dissolve blockages, such as tension, stiffness, aches or emotional difficulties. Self-healing powers are activated and often symptoms that have plagued our everyday lives disappear.

Shiatsu is conducted in comfortable clothing and socks on a soft mat or massage table.
