Since it was founded in 1974 by the Becker family, the Atrium Hotel Mainz has stood for warm hospitality, stylish ambience and first-class service. What began as a small hotel garni has developed over the decades into one of the leading private hotels in Rhineland-Palatinate – with award-winning restaurants, elegant suites and state-of-the-art conference and event facilities.

Founded by the Becker family as a hotel garni

1981

Expansion of "Haus Rheingau" with new hotel rooms & conference rooms

1985

"Haus Königsborn" extension - additional hotel rooms & opening of "Heinrich's" restaurant

1989

Extension of the "Chagall" and "Gutenberg" buildings - additional room capacity and conference rooms and opening of the Atrium Garden

1994

Construction of the "RESIDENZ", an apartment complex for long-term guests

1996

Construction of a conservatory with bistro & bar

1999

Construction of the ATRIUM Conference Centre (ACC1) with conference rooms, underground car park & foyer

2001

A new lobby and luxuriously designed suites complete the offer

2002

Opening of the gourmet restaurant ANDANTE

2005

Construction of the ATRIUM Conference Centre (ACC 2) with conference rooms, an event forum, new junior suites, a further underground car park and new green spaces

2006

New communicative centre: the "News Lounge" with bar

2008

Opening of the VINOTHEK

2011

Construction of the ATRIUM Conference Centre (ACC 3) with congress hall, additional conference outlets & new junior suites

2012

Winner "Host of the Year 2012"

2014

Redesign of the catering facilities with the ALLEGRO, CUCINA and ADAGIO restaurants. Winner "Top conference hotelier 2014"

2015

New construction of a lounge with 30 seats & extension of the bar

2016

Cross-industry award "Attractive Employer Rhineland-Palatinate"

2017

Opening of the sister hotel in the Rheingau - "Nägler's FINE LOUNGE HOTEL" - in Oestrich-Winkel

2018

Dr Lothar Becker "Hotelier of the Year" - The Great Guide (Bertelsmann)

2019

Redesign & urbanisation of the ADAGIO restaurant, lounge and bar area as well as the opening of our gourmet restaurant Genusswerkstatt and facelift & extension of the terraces & new construction of the BBQ hut "Meet & mEAT"

2020

The independent testing institute "CERTIFIED" honours us as the "best sustainable hotel in Rhineland-Palatinate"

2021

The Genusswerkstatt restaurant has been awarded 15.5 points by Gault Millau

2022

Award as "TOP Training Company", IHK certificate "IHK Outstanding Training Company" & DEKRA certificate for excellent training in the hotel industry"
